About us

Hello — I’m the owner of Space Cadet Dog Training. I’ve spent my life around animals, especially dogs, and I’m passionate about the bond that forms through training and companionship.

Growing up on the autism spectrum, I found dogs to be intuitive, loyal companions who often understood me better than people did. As I entered my teenage years I was recommended a service animal, but at the time I didn’t have the information or resources to pursue it. Later, when chronic health issues made independent living more difficult, I revisited the idea of a service dog. The cost of a fully trained program dog — often $20,000 or more — put professional placement out of reach for me, so I turned to a different path: training my own service animal.

My training journey involved working with experienced service dog trainers, including those who train for veteran programs, and mentoring under several professional trainers. I explored multiple training methods and refined my skills through hands-on experience. In early 2022 I launched Space Cadet Dog Training to offer the same approachable, effective guidance that had helped me. Since then I’ve become an AKC evaluator and continued to grow my practice.

My approach is informed by real-world experience, professional mentorship, and a commitment to creating reliable, well-mannered canine partners. Whether you’re training a service dog, a family pet, or pursuing competition goals, I’m here to help you and your dog succeed with patience, clear communication, and respect.
